So on your server all that really sells for is scarlet rubys and stuff i guess thats a big thing, what other big gems will sell high, cause i know on my server scarlet rubys are sellin VERY low

really just depends…i buy and sell what’s currently hot, and for the past several months these are the hot gems. Previous yellow and orange gems were selling very well, and I split my investment gold between red / yellow / orange.

As these other gems have dropped off I’ve move away from them.

The other gems don’t sell as well, but do have other uses (IE, crafting the new JC res items), so sometimes those can be profitable as well.

ahh ok, ya really whats selling hot on my server, mithril ore and thorium ore mithril around 60g a stack and thorium 80g a stack while saronite dropped to only 12g a stack and even titanium is only 40g a stack lol But gems those arnt selling so ya i guess your right, what ever is hot at the time,

    thanks ^^

sorry, i didn’t realize you were speaking in terms of other markets outside of gems.

Even though I’ve been buying a lot of gems recently in this tutorial it’s by no means the only hot market available.

If you had to put it in the most simplistic terms you could just buy, sell, and trade any item used for professions. You really can’t go wrong here. Granted, certain markets are going to fluctuate from time to time, and certain profession markets may not be profitable on one server…but generally speaking, there isn’t a more stable and long standing economic industry in the WoW economy.

    O sry for that lol

and ya true, there really isnt a stable industry in wow but there is always a need for something, i guess you just got to find out what at the right time lol

i wish there was a guaranteed 100% profitable item, but they simply don’t exists. You just need to find what works on your server and exploit it to its maximum profit potential.

ya but really what i find quickest to make gold is undercutting a little, cause really people will ALWAYS buy the lowest priced item, so why not undercut it 5-10g depending on how much its worth.

  8. Zuggy on May 5th, 2009 4:06 pm

why undercut when you can still sell the item during the 48 hour duration and make more gold on that given item?

There’s a lot more to pricing than simply always undercutting….maybe I should do a new tutorial specifically on advanced competitive pricing strategies…

  9. Richard Linahan on May 5th, 2009 4:12 pm

wait what do you mean 48 hour duration like i always choose that option and usally i sell in the first day or at the last min lol

  10. Zuggy on May 5th, 2009 4:13 pm

well, “first day” is fairly vague. If you literally mean the first 24 hours then you essentially wasted 50% of your allocated time…time that could have lead to reduced supply and / or increased demand for your item, which could result in more gold for you.

  11. Richard Linahan on May 5th, 2009 4:17 pm

well so your saying max out the price of my item but then people wont buy it cause they will but the cheaper ones before me first and if im lucky and that item is selling hot then ya they will buy the max price but there really isnt anything going crazy on my server right now its just “i need a little of this and that…..” no big top seller for right now. so i just tried to get my items bought first snice its not that hard to get it, but i would like you to explain more ^^ maybe you can show me a better way and probably will help me get more gold

  12. Zuggy on May 5th, 2009 4:20 pm

i’m not saying always list for max price…quite to the contrary, this is really more than I want to get into in just the commented section. I’ll see if I can put something a little more formal together within the next couple of days here that explains more what i’m talking about.

  13. Richard Linahan on May 5th, 2009 4:26 pm

    ya sry about that lol

ya thank you that would be great if you could do that ^^

I’ve got the gist of what you’re saying, but I think that a proper tutorial with discussion afterwards would be great. Use fancy words I need to look up so I can stretch my vocabulary a bit. <3 google
